Hana Beach is a great place for picnics and on summer days, and you you may get to see the outrigger canoe club practicing. Hana Bay is beautiful large black sand beach in a fairly protected cove. The beach is large and crescent shaped and runs parallel to the frontage road that leads to the pier. Luckily there is a large rock area the shoots straight up hundreds of feet from beach and offers a natural wind shield.
The sea in Hana beach and Hana Bay is typically relatively calm and is a great place for swimming, canoeing and kayaking. There are picnic benches along a grassy lawn area just off the shoreline that are a popular place for barbecuing and just chilling.
There is a pavilion and numerous picnic tables that frame the shore line. There are a lot of options for parking right next to the beach line. The services and amenities offered include public restrooms and and outdoor shower. There are luckily several large trees that offer some much needed shade on a hot day. There is a pier to the right that offers some variety and a place to get some fishing in.
Always be aware and pay attention to the signs. Hana beach is a comparatively safe beach but ocean conditions can change and you never know what can happen. This beach can be visited by sharks, jellyfish and other sea creatures that can cause harm. Try to not turn your back on the sea and be aware of weather that can quickly turn a calm sea into a raging sea.
All in all Hana Beach and it’s beautiful and relatively quite cove are a great place for you to spend some time. It is a somewhat less frequented beach park so if you like less crowds then this beach will fit perfectly into your plans.
